How your budget is saved
Your budget lives in a .json file you control — nothing is ever uploaded anywhere.
- Save As… — do this once to create your budget file. After that, every change saves to it automatically.
- Open… — load your budget file when you come back (or use the one-click Reconnect button).
- Save — manual save, if you don't want to wait for the auto-save.
- Download — save a backup copy of your budget. Works in any browser.
- Import — load a downloaded backup. Replaces what's on screen.
- 🌙 / ☀️ — switch between light and dark mode.
On Safari and Firefox, direct file saving isn't available — use Download and Import there instead.
